When you are creating a new flutter app for the first time, usually, debug size is a high size (about 100 MB and more). Then after finishing your app you must reduce the app size and make it ready to release via building apk, ios, or bundle formats.
In this post, I want to explain that how can you reduce the debug size and build an apk format for your app.
In this regard, there are two ways to build an apk for your flutter app in the android studio:
- IDE build settings
- Terminal command
- IDE build settings: At the top of the android studio’s toolbar, go through this path: Biuld< Flutter<Biuld APK
Then wait for a few minutes until the android studio makes the apk of your flutter app.
2. Terminal command: Type this command in the terminal:
flutter build apk — — release
Then again wait for a few minutes until the android studio makes the apk of your flutter app.
Finally, go to the “build” folder in your app folder (drive C in windows) and send the “app-release.apk” file to your mobile and install it. If you check the size of your app, you can figure out its size is reduced.
